Slow Art: The Drawing A Blank Nonsites

Slow Art: The Drawing A Blank Nonsites is a series of paper and canvas-based works of art made of flax harvested from the earthwork Drawing A Blank. These “nonsites” are a reflection of the land-based artwork that generated them, the history of the Western art tradition that preceded them, and the concept of farm to table art. For an inside look at how the earthwork Drawing A Blank and the series Slow Art: The Drawing A Blank Nonsites came to be view the adjacent digital publication. This digital archive contains a short essay, video documentation and photographs that will provide viewers with a better understanding of the labor intensive nature of the project, while also giving a general overview of its conceptual underpinnings.
